The answer depends on where you use it

Lyria is the model family, not one universal payment plan. Access through a Google consumer product, direct use of the Gemini API, and use of an independent tool can have different limits and billing rules. A subscription or allowance in one product does not automatically cover another.

Direct Gemini API access

The official API pricing page lists lyria-3.5 at $0.08 per generated track, without an API free tier, as checked on September 5, 2026. This is Google’s base API price, not PlayLyria’s retail price. Recheck that page before budgeting because model pricing and availability can change.

A direct API integration also has to account for its own application, payment, storage, and operational costs. Failed or uncertain requests should be compared with actual billing records rather than assumed to be free.

Google consumer products

If you access music generation in a Google app, check that app’s current account eligibility, regional availability, and usage allowance. This page does not assign a universal daily free quota to all Gemini users. A Google consumer subscription does not add credits to a PlayLyria account.

What is free on PlayLyria?

You can browse the prompt library, read the guides, and prepare a music description without purchasing credits. Browsing these pages does not start a paid generation.

Generation requires an account and an available credit. A limited account trial may be offered when the service opens, subject to remaining trial capacity and eligibility. A trial is not promised to every visitor and is not unlimited generation.

One successfully delivered track spends one credit. Starting another generation, including Generate again, needs another credit. Credit packs do not renew automatically.

If a track cannot be delivered, the reserved music credit is returned. This is different from refunding a card payment. Private audio is stored for 30 days, independently of your credit balance. See pricing and the payment terms for the complete site rules.
